So to catch you up using the short version, David came home from Afgnstan and had a job interview in York, PA. The family flew into Dulles and drove up to York with him. While he was interviewing the boys and I went to Hershey to have some chocolate milk (oh and see where chocolate is made, but it was mostly for the milk heheheh) After his interview we drove back down to DC to hang out with his family for a few days.
After two days of waiting we got an email with a job offer for David from the interview. WE were super excited because this job is in the states and he did NOT have to go back to Afgnstn!!! YAY!
At this point we start our big adventure.
Fast forward two weeks from the day we got the job offer and put the four of us in the car loaded with all of David's clothes, canned food and enough clothes for the boys and I to survive a month. (please also put the soundtrack to your favorite western movie in so it can play in the background).
We arrive to York, PA on Saturday night around 9. We check into our hotel which will also be "home" for the next week. We find out that Holiday Inn Express does NOT have a pool and we panic as we have no way for our two short people to release all the energy they have built up over the past two days of driving 20 hours from home. Now comes "creative energy release". We found a hill behind the hotel and had the kids run sprints up and down. Yes, we were those parents making our 2 year old run sprints.
During our first week of this adventure David was able to do his HR paperwork, watch the famous "sexual harassment" videos, and sign waivers saying he won't butt slap the secretary:-) The boys and I were able to make the most of our time in PA by visiting the 3 people I know living there who were willing to drop everything and play with us.
OK, so that is the really short version of what got us to where we are right now and how this adventure started. Please note: I can't promise constant updates as this hotel living has sucked up much of the free time I gained having a play room at our house however, I will do the best I can to keep posts coming.:-)
