Resolutions? ABSOLUTELY NOT!

So I have never been someone big on the word "resolution". I have never made a New Year's Resolution list nor do I think it really embraces the idea of the New Year. Here is my thought.

A resolution is saying "I resolve to do this, I'm not overly excited about it but I need to resolve to stick to it". Why would you make a big list of things that don't excite you nor hold appeal to sticking to them? I would also like to know why we feel we need to make a big list of things that are wrong with us and how we are going to change them. I like who I am and like the person God is molding me to be so why do I want to change everything? A few years back I decided to start my "Woohoooo! Here is what I GET to do this year!" list. So I would like to share my list with you today. (well some of it, some things are kinda personal).:-)

1. I get to take my kids to Disney World this year
2. I get to take as many Bible Study sessions at church as I can
3. I get to continue finding new recipes to use in the kitchen to help my family be healthy!
4. I get to help Jeffrey learn to use the "big boy potty"
5. I get to help Bubba move from being a baby to being a toddler!
6. I get to help David work hard at his shooting skills so he can enter a shooting contest this year.
7. I get to continue losing my baby weight so that I am able to be as energetic with my kiddos as possible!
8. I get to share God's love with the people around me.
9. I get to take a trip to KY before 2011 is over.
10. I get to work around our house with renovations to make it even more about our personalities and not the previous owner's likes and dislikes.
11. I get to stay in contact with so many wonderful friends who are positive and surround me with happiness and joy.
12. I get to take the kids out on the bike that David got me for Christmas!
13. I get to take the kids to the zoo!
14. I get to start Jeffrey in his Martial Arts classes!!!
15. I get to spend time with my family while we live in FL.
16. I get to finish the landscaping in our yard!!! (I love working with the plants)
17. I get to teach Jeffrey how to use Play doh
18. I get to teach Bubba how to create art!
19. I get to teach Jeffrey how to use his new camera!
20. I get to focus on my pictures more and make some scrapbooks that I DON'T give away.:-) hehehe

Now this list is not finished. I find that it is fun to add to my list all year long. I encourage you to review your New Year beginning. Don't look for things you want to change this year, find things that make you happy and make a list of what you can do this year to make you feel loved and full. I feel so blessed to have all of you in my life. I know that each of you has a purpose and place and I love being on the journey of life with you as we all discover our purpose and place! God bless and Happy New Year!!! (please feel free to share your list with me! Maybe you will have something I want to do too!!!!):-)
