So is this your first Christmas with a kid? Maybe you had a child or adopted someone new to your family, either way I have a great idea that will help you watch them grow over the years while also providing a useful Christmas decoration. Go find a cheap tree skirt made of felt. You want a solid color one so that the things you attach will show up well. Each December trace your child's hand and foot prints on paper. Cut the tracing out and then use as a pattern on a piece of felt. Cut this out and then attach to the tree skirt. You don't have to be great at sewing to do this. It is a simple loop stitch. If you want, stitch the year and age of your little friend on the hand and foot. As the years pass you will be amazed at how fast your little one grows.
