Today I said a prayer for a.......

Lizard. Yes, you read that right, I said a prayer for a lizard.

Let me go back to the beginning. We have a patio chair that somehow or another ended up in front of the dining room window. Because I'm just that lazy I have left it there instead of moving it ALL the way around the corner of the house to where it's counterparts are living. I'm pretty sure that would take approximately 30 seconds so I just have not found the time to put this chair back where it goes. Well, it has been there for about 3 months now and about a month ago Jeffrey noticed that there was a lizard on the top looking around while we ate our breakfast. That night (I don't know if it was the same lizard or what) there was another lizard on the chair during our dinner. The next day we looked and sure enough, lizard on chair! Our morning and evening routine quickly added "looking for the lizard" and was a fun way for Jeffrey to lose his fear of these little guys. We decided to name the lizard Luigi and add him to our extended family.

Ok, so that is the background for our new friend. Here is the part where the prayer comes in. Sunday David and dad did a ton of yard work. They really made our backyard pop. I was so excited to have all that work done but was careful to remind them NOT TO MOVE THE CHAIR so that Luigi would still be able to visit us. On Sunday night during dinner we looked but no Luigi. Monday morning we looked, no Luigi. Monday evening again, no Luigi. Jeffrey started to become very upset and I was trying to comfort him by saying that Luigi was on vacation visiting is relatives in DC where we just were. Well, that satisfied him for about one meal and after that we were just a bit upset about the fact that Luigi wasn't on the chair when we got up and before bed. I decided that I needed some intervention. I honestly sat down and prayed that God would bring any lizard that looked like Luigi back to our chair. I reminded God that Jeffrey knew the difference in the dark and light lizards and he knew how big Luigi was. (we had a guest on the chair that I tried to pass off as Luigi and he clearly told me that the lizard was too little and not black.) Guess what??? This morning when we opened the window there sat Luigi. Jeffrey began jumping and waving and asked if he could share his Eggo with the little guy. I told him that Luigi had already eaten and he seemed ok with that. Needless to say, I'm pretty sure God is laughing at the fact that I prayed for a lizard but hey, it worked! All is well and happiness is restored in our home.:-)
