It's HIS Potty and He Will Try If HE Wants To

So Jeffrey has been potty trained with "#1" for a few months now and fully trained with both functions for about a month. We have had a couple accidents but I'm proud to say that we traveled from FL to KY and back again without a SINGLE ACCIDENT!!! In my book that is awesome! I have noticed that we have a ton of money left over at the end of every month and I realized it was because I am no longer buying diapers or wipes for him! It is a wonderful feeling to have only one kid in diapers.

With Jeffrey being potty trained Bubba has taken notice and wants to use the potty too! Till this point I have not had a week to devote to Bubba to help him be successful in his attempts. I keep promising the kid that I will help him learn but it seems that trips or visitors keep creeping up and I run out of time. WELLLL, as of today that changes. He ran out of diapers this morning and in our house that means you get to wear big boy pants!

I asked him if he wanted to try and use the big boy potty and he started jumping up and down and got really excited! I showed him his box of big boy pants and let him pick out what pair he wanted to wear and that puts us to right now. Here we all sit, watching TV in the living room with the potty and a timer. I have it set for every 20 min. When the timer goes off he gets to sit on the potty and "try". I think he has seen Jeffrey enough that he knows what is supposed to happen but just doesn't fully understand "how" it happens. I figured that if I am able to catch him in the act so he can associate the event with the feeling then he will be successful. He has the desire (which Jeffrey did not) and he has the determination so if I can help him figure out the feeling I think we should have an easier time with this than we did the first time around.

Sooooo, here I go again. I plan on having a week of dancing, celebrations, accidents and the need for a trip to the store for more Lysol Wipes:-) I wanna keep a log of this so that when the boys are older they will have something to look back on when they have kiddos! Here we go people! Gonna be a fun ride. Frustrating but fun and who knows? Maybe I will be living in a diaper free house by the end of the month!! Oh, the thought of all that extra money!:-)
